MoreSense: who are we?
MoreSense is an innovative start-up founded in February 2020 as a spin-off of:
- Copernico, a well-established consortium of professionals specialising in consultancy and operational services in the field of contaminated site remediation.
- University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli– Department of Engineering, with a decade of experience in the field of optical sensors.
From January 2026 l’azienda ha smesso di essere una startup e Spinoff accademico dell’università degli Studi della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli e grazie ad uno nuovo assetto societario è diventata una innovative SME ready to embark on a new journey that will enable us to achieve the goals the team has set itself.
Drawing on the expertise of a multidisciplinary team, MoreSense is dedicated to research and development of advanced technological solutions in the field of pollutant treatment and sensor technology.
The company innovatively integrates key pillars (MIP – Molecularly Imprinted Polymers, SPR – Surface Plasmon Resonance, Electronic instruments) to provide unique, highly specific and extremely sensitive solutions.

Giovanni Porto
CO-FONDATORE & CEO
Senior geologist and founder of Copernico srl. He holds a degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Milan and has over 20 publications to his name.
Guido Chiaretti
CO-FOUNDER & TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER MANAGER
Former Director of New Technologies at STMicroelectronics. He holds a degree in Physics from the University of Milan, has authored over 50 publications and holds more than 20 patents.
Carmelo Papa
CO-FOUNDER & STRATEGIC PARTNER
A former managing director of STMicroelectronics Italia, he graduated in Physics from the University of Catania.
Chiara Perri
CO-FOUNDER & SCIENTIST
PhD in Industrial and Information Engineering at the University of Campania L. Vanvitelli.
Alessandro Chiodi
SCIENTIST
He holds a degree in Engineering Physics from the Politecnico di Milano.
Riccardo Rovida
SCIENTIST
